- To some of you I may be remembered as a pioneer in entity modeling and associated tools. To others I may be known for more recent work with the British Army in the field of "battlespace information management" or perhaps the development of CBML - the Army's language for semantic modeling of dynamic and other information across a complex enterprise.
- Parting with the Army after twelve happy and productive years, I found a new focus and energy by taking this experience into the wider world by joining the World Wide Web Consortium as an individual member through my own company Babelease Ltd.

Since April 2005 I have been engaged in self-funded R & D designed to support the consortium in its aim of developing the present “web of documents” to a “web of data - about everything - for everybody”. For those that like a picture, here's one of me taking questions at the Semantic Technology Conference (STC05) in San Francisco in March last year. I had just presented a paper entitled "Removing Technical Bias from the Conceptual Modeling of Business Information“ (authored jointly with Col. Peter Nell of the British Army). This paper is included in a "Collection of Papers Describing Concepts Developed Between 1994 and 2005 Under Contract for the British Army Toward their Goal of Fully Interoperable Application Systems".
